Hedreich Nichols and das office

It's official! The partnership between Hedreich Nichols and Das Office is getting off to a running start. In addition to being available on hedreich.com, Time Now will soon be distributed by cede.ch here as well as in Austria and Germany. Additionally you can expect to be hearing the radio single "Toxic" nationwide soon. If you don't, get on the horn and ask your local DJ to play it!! And if you can't wait, order here now!

Das Zelt's gala night went off without a hitch and Hedreich is already preparing for the next musical events. After subbing for Sascha Oberholzer at this weekend's private affair with Just Jazz, Hedreich will be doing final preparation for the choral workshop in Stans where she will transform 80 singers into a Gospel choir in 8 hours. Don't believe it?! Come watch Hedreich flex her muscles as arranger, teacher and director. Unfortunately it's too late to register to sing but the proof is in the pudding--or in this case, the concert. See you there!

Time Now, Art on Ice And More

"So Hot" was song and sound at this year's Art on Ice VIP parties. The Gary Scott Band kept the party going with Gary augmenting the performance of his 8 piece ensemble by inviting stellar singers and musicians on stage to play with his dream team. GSB even played Toxic, the first cut from "Time Now" which has been selling steadily over hedreich.com. Toward Summer Hedreich's fans can look for broader distribution in Switzerland and possibly abroad.

As things begin to thaw, our vocal all-arounder is on the move playing musical chameleon as only she can. Some Jazz at a ball or two, Das Zelt with Phil Dankner, 2 seminars plus music from Time Now with her band "The Boyz" will be keeping fans entertained while keeping her musically tuned and in tune! Check out the calendar to catch her doing her thing live at a venue near you.

The wait is over!! For fans who have been wating with bated breath for the CD to be finished, limited edition copies are now available through hedreich.com!! Hedreich, who has traditionally called herself an arranger, went singer-songwriter in a big way penning over 30 songs since last March. An album full of passion and pain, you won't want to miss it!

January is customarily the time when our artist can relax, review and rejuvenate. That was almost the case. She relaxed at the piano while composing, reviewed and re-reviewed graphics and artwork for the upcoming CD and rejuvenation--well, making music rejuvenates! Now, gearing up for some more studio work with Gölä as well as upcoming performances with party bands Just Jazz and the Gary Scott Band, 2010 is off to a running start. Additionally you can start to look for performances in your area to promote the upcoming CD. Check back soon so you don't miss anything!

The futuristic year 2010 came in with a bang at the Tschuggen Grand in Arosa. Hedreich and the Gary Scott Band kept the party going till the fireworks started and the gayly turned out crowd showed their appreciation by keeping the dance floor full and breaking only to grab morsels of the delectable edibles.

Now, safely nestled in the wintery Alpine countryside with a
couple of weeks off from the stage, our artist is busily working on the last phase of the CD production. Graphics, booklet, CD, PR and more. Stop back by to find out if there's a release event near you.

Advent--of Another Kind

Since there was probably no star shining over Chicago's Gravity Studios at 2am, we thought we'd announce it here--the baby is born! No, not that baby. And maybe it's reaching a little to compare the two. Still, we're proud to announce that the CD is finished! Doug McBride did the mastering with mixing engeneer James Auwarter and his assistant Miela giving valuable inputs. The first couple of reactions have been more than positive and although sudden peace on earth is probably not imminent, you can expect a good sound and rich stories that will hopefully make your corner of the world a tiny bit brighter. We'll keep you posted on availability, concerts and all that jazz.

On other fronts, Vienna with the Inspirational Singers was exactly that--inspirational. With good music, incredibly beautiful venues like Schonbrunn at Christmastime and the Viennese guildhall (pictured) it was a picture postcard perfect.

With that, we here at hedreich.com would like to wish you the best and brightest of holidays with hopes that the magic and miracle of a long ago birth will carry you through the season and on into a prosperous 2010. If we don't see you at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, see you next year!

Davos Sounds Good

This past Tuesday found Hedreich rocking the Davos culture prize ceremony. Yes, you read it right, rocking it! The distinguished guests at this formal ceremony morphed into a choir under Hedreich's tutelage as they learned and helped to sing two songs from her upcoming CD. The evening found them dancing, clapping and singing along at this two-part event, staged at the Kirchener Museum and the Hotel Europe piano bar. Along with Tom Gisler on keys and Jost Müller on Cajon, the Culture Committe from Davos celebrated the evening in high musical style.

And on the CD front, we'd like to welcome aboard James Auwater or Chicago, Illinois. He'll be spending the next weeks mixing the project to perfection--and he's got the credentials to do it!
"The writing and recording phase was MUCH easier, " says Hedreich. "This waiting is horrible!! It must be what it's like to be a dad waiting for the baby to be born!" says Hedreich.

At least our artist will be spared the pacing in the waiting room. Although she will have the task of listening, revising and approving all mixes, while waiting she will have the honor of attending the Vienna International Choir Festival. The Inspirational Singers, will be singing in and around Vienna, including at the prestigious Schonbrunn Palace. The Inspirational Singers' concert was so full that finally people had to unfortunately be turned away to avoid problems with the fire marshall. (What is it with Hedreich and law officials these days?!) The concert was by all accounts amazing with the whole aggregation up singing, clapping and rocking from side to side. In addition to an excellent performance by Hedreich and her choir, 11 year old Tiziana Krämer dazzled the audience with her rendition of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb".

Moving ahead, Hedreich did some dazzling of her own at Tropenhaus Frutigen (http://www.tropenhaus-frutigen.ch). Backed up by an all-star band, she got the illustrious crowd singing and dancing with some old favorites as well as a couple of tunes from her upcoming CD. She was even heard gracing Russian ambassador Igor Bratchikov with her own rendition of Moscow Evenings--in Russian! Finally on the 29th, Hedreich was once again with singing Gospel with the Konolfingen ad hoc Advent workshop choir for their 10th anniversary. After rehearsing all day Saturday and Sunday, she once again managed to get the choir and standing room only crowd up singing and swinging! On Swine Flu and Gospel...

Weeeeellll, the Tibiz gig did take place this time. But if you read the Blick (Switzerland's answer to the Enquirer) you know that Tanja Dankner didn't make it because of virus du jour H1N1. Still, with Nubya subbing for her and Hedreich previewing songs from her upcoming CD, a good time was definitely had by all. Hedreich.com's Simon Gisler was even on hand with a mike in his hand! And on the home front, barring any major illnesses or minor ones requiring mass quarantine, this Sunday will see the 11th annual concert of the Inspirational Singers in the Netstal Protestant Church at 5PM. The concert come to be known in Glarnerland as the start of the Advent season. In case you don't make it, stop back by next week to get the details! Multi-tasking!

If women are good at multi-tasking then Hedreich is definitely one of the pros. In addition to finishing up the CD project, preparing for the Inspritational Singers' November 22nd annual concert and working on repertoirs for 3 other upcoming performances, Hedreich is looking into the future, planning the CD launch and a couple of other gigs hopefully in a neighborhood near you. As a matter of fact, if your neighborhood happens to be in Basel, come on out to Tibiz this Saturday where Hedreich will be special guest along with Nubya, Guitarist Randy Müller and "da man" on the keys, Greg Galli. It starts at 9PM and if we're lucky, there'll be no police action. In the meantime, for all the up to the minute updates join Hedreich's Facebook fansite. All music, all the time!

One Singer Under Many Groovy Hats

In addition to doing the endspurt boogie on her upcoming album, Hedreich has spent the month playing aunt, teacher, surrogate mom, godmom, drummer, nurse, as well as a host of other varied and interesting stuff. All that in a month having 3 vacation weeks! But the work is paying off. Fans will be glad to know that the sound coming out of Soundcheck studio is exceptional, a Hedreich you know but like you've heard her before. Hmmm, what does that mean? Welllll, buy the CD and find out! It's due out about the time the first snowdrops push up through last of the the mountain snow. Oh, and if you're in Basel on November 14th, stop by Tibiz. We're trying to do the gig again--this time without police intervention!

Police Cancel Performance

If you were one of the people standing in a quiet restaurant in Basel expecting a concert, you may already be in the know. For those here to find out how the concert was, well, there wasn't one. Unfortunately, today at about 4PM a legal petition was delivered to Tibiz Basel prohibiting music louder than 75dB --about the same noise level as your household dishwasher. If you've heard Hedreich or Tanja, you know they each sing, uh, a bit louder than a dishwasher, thus the cancelled performance. Let's hope the performance takes place in some form in the future.

Grammy Nominated

In addition to hanging at number one with Polo, Hedreich is also a part of the Grammy nominated "Living Your Dream". The Michael Jackson tribute song has just been confirmed in 12 categories. Don't forget to check out the video in our media section. And if you happen to be in Basel, stop into Tibiz to get your groove on. Tanja Dankner and her band will be putting down the sound and Hedreich will be the featured guest of the evening. If you're in the area, it will be an evening not to be missed. And if you're not in the area, it may just be well worth the drive!

Hanging with Polo at number 1

The Swiss rock legend Polo Hofer decided to Gospel-and-Blues it up so he called Hedreich along with Freda Goodlet to put some soul into "Ds Letschte Hemmli". The song, which would probably be titled "You Can't Take It With You" in English, is in the number 1 slot on the Swiss charts. And when you get toward the end, I think you'll hear Hedreich's unmistakeable voice doing ad libs over the Chorus...

Congratulations Das Office and Powerplay

Hedreich took a few hours off from music making to get an up close and personal look at the new Powerplay studios. After a soft renovation, Powerplay presented it's new look to a host of singers, musicians, producers and Swiss music business elite. The staff at Powerplay and Das Office combined powers to create an event that only Claudia Boggio could have masterminded; Studio 1 converted to an intimate club with some of Switerland's hottest new bands playing, the reception area converted to a bar, and a HUGE grill and salad buffet...altogether they created a fine evening of music and magic befitting the grande dame of the Swiss studios. Even "Mr. Powerplay" himself, Jürg Peterhans was on hand for the festivities. And of course, no musician can be around music and really be off duty. So if you see Hedreich and the Flash playing with a Cajon and shakers instead of a kit, you can trace it back to this evening!

The "Living Your Dream" press conference on the Blofeld Entertainment terrace was the first official event for the Michael Jackson tribute single spearheaded by Lichtensteiner Al Walser and Jermaine Jackson. Producer/singer/songwriter Walser, along with Blofeld's Zoe Torinesi were gracious hosts, fielding questions from Swiss TV, newspaper and magazine journalists as well as making sure noone left hungry or thirsty. As the aroma of Gouchos Argentinian beef filled the air, Hedreich, as well as others on the project, talked about the project, gave interviews and reminisced about Michael Jackson. Also on hand were officials from Wunderlampe, a charity similar in goals to the "Make A Wish" foundation. Wunderlampe will be the recipient of a portion of all sales and downloads. Gone Too Soon

Hedreich's memories of Michael Jackson go all the way back to the Jackson 5's Ed Sullivan debut. So it was a bittersweet day singing on Al Walser's "Living Your Dream". It will be released for Michael's birthday, August 29th, with a closed release ceremony being held on Blofeld Entertainments' terrace in Zürich. Hedreich sang from the heart. Harmonizing with Jermaine Jackson would have been a highlight for any singer had it not been for the fact that the recording is only coming to pass because Michael has indeed "gone too soon". Still, Al has pulled in some excellent Swiss talent and the project promises to be a grand musical bouquet paying homage to one of the most influential musical entertainers of modern times. May he truly rest in peace.

The Houston Gospel Music Legends event hosted by Kurt Carr and Yolanda Adams was an extravaganza extrordinaire. As a presenter, Hedreich's role was relaxed enough so that she could enjoy the festivities of the evening with "Legends" she's known since childhood. One of the event's highlights was Hedreich sitting in as drummer on the award winning "Order My Steps" sung by Barbara Johnson Tucker, who happens to be Hedreich's Godmother. It goes without saying that presenting the BC&S Music Excellence award on behalf of her mother--Brenda Waters-- was a very special honor.
Now safely again ensconced in the Swiss Alps, the unpacking will have to wait. In addition to all the vacation paperwork piles, Hedreich has been invited to work on a Michael Jackson tribute project with Al Walser, Nubya, Phil and Tanya Dankner and Jesse Brown. The project is spearheaded by Jermaine Jackson and is slated to be released for August 29th, Michael Jackson's birthday. Check back in a few days to see how the session went. Pure Americana

Imagine a perfect Fourth of July. A warm summer evening with people of all ages under an open sky dancing, singing, toe-tapping. Picture people of African, Asian, Hispanic, European and mostly--to a greater or lesser degree-of mixed racial descent all listening to a music born of that melting pot: Swing! The Olney Big Band played fiery renditions from some of America's most beloved composers from the 30s 40s and 50s. Hedreich, the evening's special guest, peppered OBB's performance with her rendition of Lady is a Tramp. Her scat solo won her the hearts of the listeners. She rounded out the evening leading the audience in song with these words; "...let us all be grateful for a land so fair, as we lift our voices in a solemn prayer; God bless America, land that I love..." Happy Birthday America from the hedreich.com team.
